COWDENBEATH 0-4 PETERHEAD

Peterhead moved up to third in League 2 with an impressive victory at Cowdenbeath, who slipped to the bottom of the table.

A ruthless display of finishing saw the Blue Toon take a three goal lead into the interval and they added another after the break.

Boss Jim McInally was able to field a strong starting line-up with Rory McAllister and Jamie Stevenson shrugging off injuries to declare themselves fit.

Cowdenbeath included former Blue Toon defender Scott Rumsby in their team.

Following a sixth minute free-kick, Allan Smith notched from close range and the same player netted again from six yards in the 19th minute.

The visitors were certainly in the mood and Willie Gibson added a third with a shot from inside the box in the 22nd minute.

WIth the points as good as in the bag, Peterhead managed a fourth goal in the 77th minute when Scott Brown got in on the scoring act.
