Forfar 1 Peterhead 0

Sun 14 Sep 2014

It was a disappointing afternoon for the Blue Toon as Danny Denholm's left-footed strike proved enough to seperate the two League One outfits.

Forfar 24-year-old winger netted just before half-time but despite a energetic 45 minutes from Peterhead after the break, the game ended 1-0.

Dale Hilson, Stephen Husband and Gavin Swankie all threatened for the Station Park side in the first half before Jamie Redman brought a good safe from former-Celtic stopper Rab Douglas.

After the match Blue Toon boss Jim McInally said: "I was disappointed because in the first-half it looked like we wanted to take a look at our opponents and it cost us.

"I don't often have a go at half-time but I did this time - you can't play against players like Swankie and Husband like that. We just never got close to them."
