U21s: Peterhead 2 Banks O'Dee 4

Wed 23 Nov 2011

Peterhead fell to defeat against Banks o' Dee in a controversial Aberdeenshire League match at Balmoor last night.

The Blue Toon led thanks to Jamie McLauchlan's 7th minute goal, flicked in by the youngster after Conor Legge and Dane Ballard had both flicked on a Paul Jarvie goal kick.

But midfielder Paul Watson was sent off for a frustrated swipe at fresh air which referee Thomas Shaw deemed an act of violent conduct after half an hour, and from the resultant free-kick the visitors levelled.

Ballard had already been subsituted by this point, and Peterhead were forced to use the second of their two substitutes when Ewen Morgan was stretchered off ten minutes from the break.

The Blue Toon were reduced to nine men when Barry Sellars was deemed to have brought down a Dee player in the area, though the award looked soft and the punishment harsh.

The resultant penalty was converted and worse was to follow as Legge was forced off with a knock, leaving the Blue Toon with just eight men - before half-time!

Kevin Will's side netted twice in the second half to lead 4-1, but Paul Campbell thumped home a stunner from 25 yards with two minutes left to bring a some respectability to the scoreline.

PETERHEAD: Paul Jarvie, Lewis Davidson, Roy McBain, Ewen Morgan (Greg Alexander, 35), Matt Fraser, Barry Sellars, Graeme Sharp, Paul Watson, Conor Legge, Jamie McLauchlan, Dane Ballard (Paul Campbell, 24).
